Self-Isolation: Week Nineteen
Not quite as industrious this week, but definitely a fun few days of movie watching and reading. We’ve set up an outdoor home theater on our deck, and watched Bonne & Clyde (1967) - the inspiration for a new ‘Be Not Afraid’ video piece, but other than that I didn’t do as much as I usually do, preferring to just watch old movies this week. I’m really enjoying working through some old Herzog films, and I’d never seen the three colors trilogy, which I thought was fantastic. Last night I finally watched through Andrei Rublev, and today it’s The Baby of Macon.
Still playing through Ghost Of Tsushima, the pace of which has been working out really well - lots of side missions, and generally just living in that world without any real need to ‘progress’ in any way. Worked on an alphabet piece, but will most likely be doing less of those kinds of things in the future, although the Kim Kardashian work might be something I’ll think about doing more of. I’ve also collected all the pandemic diaries work so far and will be adding to it here.
Right now I’m just enjoying watching old movies, working on ‘me’, catching up on a ton of much-neglected reading, and doing some Olympic-level puttering in my studio. I don’t get to do this much these days, but I puttered around with reorganizing my comic books (I’d found a great Etsy store that does custom short boxes) until 3am on Saturday night, which is a real treat for me, but man did I pay for it on Sunday.

Ghost Of Tsushima (Walkthrough 2020)
I’ve been really enjoying this, especially playing in ‘Kurosawa Mode’ which turns the whole game into a fifties samurai themed experience. The open-world system, and the intense attention to detail, plus just a great story have been so much fun. I’m about half way through the main story arc at the moment, but the enormous volume of side quests means I’ll be playing this for a while.

Pandemic Movies (2020)
Inspired by the Kurosawa mode in Ghost Of Tsushima, at the end of Week Eighteen of self-isolation I resolved to start watching a lot more independent and arthouse movies. Here’s what I watched this week.
Pandemic Reading (2020)
I’ve also resolved to try and read more during self-isolation. Here’s what I read this week:
